Thank you for your interest in the Sheet Metal Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee San Diego apprenticeship program! Once accepted into the program, the applicant is expected to undergo a drug test. After confirming a negative result of the drug test, you will be provided with instructions and a schedule for your physical abilities test. It is essential for applicants to have the physical capacity to handle the core tasks of a sheet metal worker. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old and furnish the documents mentioned below. Diplomas need to be issued by an accredited high school within the United States. Diplomas obtained from a school outside the United States or written in a language other than English will need to be officially translated into English. Additional details might be needed. Any inconsistencies will be examined, and a decision will be made by the SMART Local 206 Sheet Metal Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee San Diego. Applicants who have met the minimum qualifications may be contacted and scheduled for an interview with a subcommittee of the JATC.

Eligibility into the program is based on the following: achieving passing grades in skills competency test and oral interview, passing the drug test, geographic availability, timely response to JATC. We will notify you of your status upon completion of our process.
