Welding Upgrade Instructor

Mario Vasquez

Mario’s journey with Local 206 began in the year 2000, initially working as a sign builder and welder. His dedication to both his career and sheet metal craftsmanship became more important as his family began to grow. Mario found gratification in the sheet metal trade by acquiring versatile skills and hands-on expertise that seamlessly transfer across various facets of the industry.

Having completed the Sheet Metal JATC San Diego apprenticeship program in 2012, Mario’s specialization has predominantly centered around welding. Within the training center, the most fulfilling aspect for him as an instructor is to impart his skills and knowledge to prospective journey workers.

Among the most memorable projects Mario contributed to in his career was the Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge that connects the Hilton Hotel to Petco Park.
